Penwith Horse Cemetery

Penny's horses at Rose Farm

An orchard setting for your noble friend

Penwith Horse Cemetery is a much needed facility for horse owners who wish their beloved companion a dignified ending.

We will arrange for the collection and burial of your horse in our special cemetery at Rose Farm. If required, and your horse is able, we can organise collection and transportation of your horse to Rose Farm for our own vet's attention.

On every grave we will provide a commemorative plaque and a fruit tree at the place of burial, thereby creating an orchard. This makes a very fitting place for such lovely animals to end their days.

Your horse will be treated with respect and reverence at all times; you can be assured that it will rest in peace & tranquillity in a beautiful place.

John & Penny are animal lovers themselves - when the time comes please contact Penny or John or call on 01736 731310 to discuss your requirements. We try to ease the pain for all horse lovers at their worst moments.

Burial costs
All enquiries receive individual attention, so please be sure to check with John for the rates applicable to your individual requirements; call 01736 731310.

Your horse questions and our answers

Naturally you will have many questions - here are a few common questions, and our responses. If your questions are not addressed here, please get in touch and we will try to set your mind at ease.

Q What happens to the horse cemetery when you (John and Penny) die?
A The property is held in trust, and its current use is protected to the maximum extent possible under English law after their deaths. John and Penny will be buried on the property too.

Q What times are you open?
A People are welcome to visit the cemetery at any time.

Q Can we have a plaque as a memorial to our horse?
A Yes, we can arrange a variety of memorial plaques.

Q Can I be buried there when I die?
A Yes, in our woodland burial place.

The Horse by Ronald Duncan

Where in this wide world
Can man find nobility without pride
Friendship without envy
Or beauty without vanity?

Here, where grace is laced with muscle,
And strength by gentleness confined.
He serves without servility.
He has fought without enmity.

There is nothing so powerful,
Nothing less violent.
There is nothing so quick,
Nothing more patient.

England's past has been borne on his back,
All our history is his industry.
We are all his heirs,
He our inheritance.
